Q: When I register, what if I’m between vessels or my assigned vessel is not listed?

A: Under the Vessel/Command drop-down list, scroll to the bottom and use either “Other” (preferred) or N/A (if not assigned to any vessel at any time – i.e. a shoreside employee).

Q: What Address should I use, for registering?

A: We suggest using the address where you will receive your certificate of completion or any additional handouts, via Postal mail.

Q: Can Contract Mariners (CONMAR) attend this class?

A: All MSC Mariners, either Civilian or Contract Operators (CIVMARs or CONMARs) may and are highly encouraged to attend at least once every five years.

Q: What is the cost for the course(s)? How may I pay for it?

A: The cost of each of the courses are covered; however, travel, per diem, and any miscellaneous expenses for each enrollee needs to be covered by their employer.

Q: I’m the training coordinator for a Contract Operator and I want to sign up an employee – whose email address shall I use?

A: Ensure you use YOUR email address; that way you will get a notification/confirmation of the sign-up and can/should forward to the employee.

Q: What time does the class end on the last day, so I know when to book my flight?

A: We try to end at or before 3pm on the last day of instruction, so make your travel and hotel arrangements accordingly, to allow for travel, etc.
